It is updated every 2 weeks. As soon as the ban is lifted, we can ship to your country. If you don't find your country in the list above, please check this page in 2 weeks.
These days our processing time is 2 to 10 days. It varies depending on when your order is placed and confirmed. Our shipment is planned once a week on Thursday or Friday. All orders of the week are gathered and shipped out on Thursday or Friday from our local post office. Sometimes depending on the national holidays or religious events, our processing time gets longer. If you need any updates, please feel free to write to us.
Following our usual policy, if your request of cancellation of order is over 2 days after your payment confirmation, it will not be accepted.
Your order is usually treated immediately except weekend. Our team works on it and it is worth being paid.
If you would like to cancel your order, please contact within 2 days after placing the order. Then you will be fully refunded.
If you still want to cancel your order after over 2 days of your payment confirmation, we will hold 30% of the total amount of your payment for the labor of our team. Thank you for your understanding.
Senegal's unemployment rate is more than 15% of population. The average age of its population is still under 19 years old. Which shows that they need work and money to raise their young siblings or kids.
After starting our business modecorarts, we are proud of its structure contributing constant jobs to Senegalese craftsmen although it is still small. Our craftsmen and women are paid more than double for all products they manufacture or having high monthly salaries. Because we hope that modecorarts jobs can help them to improve their lives such as allowing their kids to go to school, making their daily life easier...
For modecorarts, being fair is making the work relationship "win-win". Those who didn't have many experiences, they learn with us. Those who had advanced experiences are excited to make new designs. We just do not want to give things or money to satisfy ourselves as donors. We would like to see genuine changes in them and be happy together.
About Our Prices
Our prices sometimes seem to you inexpensive. Because we try to set affordable prices compared to other African home decoration stores you can find.
Why? Because we simply would like to provide more & stable jobs to Senegalese craftsmen or women. If prices are high, their lives will never be stable.
Modecorarts products are all handmade in Senegal. We pay attention on quality, finishes or any details. But our quality control is not as strict as industrial companies. Please accept that there are always some little charms of difference of colors or dimension due to handmade. Please accept 1.5" (at most) of difference on dimension. If there is pretty much difference, we let you know before shipping.
Our products might have some little defects due to handmade. Please accept those handmade charms. If your item has a serious defect, please do not hesitate to write to us.
When you don't like your item, we don't recommend you to return it to us. Because the shipping will be at your charge and it will be extremely expensive from your country if it is voluminous. We recommend you to sell it or give it away. But the refund will not be made.
In the case of the small items, please let us know within 1 week after you receive.
We accept wholesale. Please send us your inquiry with approximate deadline, interested products and quantity by email.
About Shipping Method
We use postal service to ship most of products.
Senegal post office's price set is based on the weight, not on volume. Even if the item is voluminous, we can still ship them at an affordable price compared to common logistic companies such as DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc...
Our shipping takes longer time than those logistic companies, but we can freshly and safely ship products "made in Senegal" to your door. And it supports Senegalese craftsmen and women.
Modecorarts use recycled materials for wrapping for all items. They don't look fancy but they are sturdy to protect your items until your place. Please accept our effort for eco-friendly policy.
After being shipped
We are not responsible for time used for clearance at customs of your destination country and transit country. Customs are country's authority and it is totally beyond our control. Customs clearance takes 1 to 8 weeks depending on the country.
The shipping fee you have paid covers only the travel from modecorarts (Senegal) to your local post office or your door. It doesn't cover any VAT, import tax, or fees required by your destination country's authority. Before placing order, please go to your country's customs office website or contact them to know how much it would be required for items made in Senegal. These required payment is beyond our responsibility. If you do not pay, the package might be returned to us. But as your refusal of payment is your choice, the entire order amount will not be refunded. 30% of your total order amount will be refunded.
Senegalese products are often exempt from VAT or import tax for many countries. Please get information about your customs regulation before purchasing.
When we ship, we send you tracking number so that you can track it on your country's postal service website. After receiving your tracking number, if you do not figure out to receive the package in person, track it or reschedule the delivery, we are not responsible for the possible return. After receiving the shipping notification, you are responsible to make your reception happen. If you will be in vacations, please let us know as soon as you place the order.
